Development Projects Worth ₹194 Crore Inaugurated and Laid in Sambalpur


Bhubaneswar, 10 May (H.S.):Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the inauguration and foundation laying of development projects valued at ₹194 crore in Odisha's Sambalpur district, emphasizing that these initiatives will greatly enhance the social and economic lives of local residents.

Naktideula, Pradhan described Sambalpur as a region with immense potential, highlighting that its comprehensive development is a collective responsibility. He noted that 48 projects have been initiated to accelerate growth in education, healthcare, transport, and agriculture, promising long-term improvements in livelihoods.

The Minister recalled Sambalpur's rich legacy in the freedom struggle, honoring freedom fighter Madhu Gadatia for his courageous contributions against British rule.

He reported that projects worth ₹9.17 crore have been inaugurated, with 17 development works completed across the Rairakhol, Naktideula, and Jujomura blocks. Additionally, foundation stones for 31 new projects totaling ₹184.69 crore have been laid.

Key initiatives include the development of the Bhimmandali Eco Heritage Site, estimated at ₹8.30 crore, the construction of a new Community Health Centre and BPHU unit in Naktideula at around ₹18 crore, and a mini stadium project worth ₹16.10 crore to promote youth sports.

Infrastructure improvements feature the upgrade of the Ramapur–Girishchandrapur road in Rairakhol block, costing ₹47.24 crore to enhance regional connectivity. Development of veterinary infrastructure, market complexes, and rural roads in Jujomura block is also underway.

Pradhan noted that Naktideula has been recognized as an aspirational block by the Government of India, with ongoing efforts to strengthen dairy, vegetable, and mango cultivation to boost farmers' income and promote self-reliance.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to the overall development of Sambalpur district and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Odisha government for their support.

State ministers, including Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Ravi Narayan Naik and Rairakhol MLA Prasanna Acharya, attended the event.
