
Hooghly, 10 May (H.S.): Serampore MLA Bhaskar Bhattacharya on Sunday reiterated that restoring and strengthening law and order in Serampore is his foremost priority as an MLA.
Bhattacharya made the remarks while attending a blood donation camp organised by Shobha Jeev Kalyan Trust at Ward No. 11 of Rishra municipality in Hooghly district.
Speaking at the event, the Serampore MLA said that after assuming office, his immediate focus has been on improving the law and order situation in the constituency. He added that discussions have already been held with senior administrative officials to address the issue effectively.
The MLA also said he aims to promote Serampore as an international tourism destination and assured that all possible efforts would be made in that direction.
Highlighting the importance of blood donation, Bhattacharya praised the donors for their participation and said donating blood is one of the noblest acts of service to humanity.
Sunny Kumar Singh, founder of Shobha Jeev Kalyan Trust and organiser of the camp, said 28 people, including six women, donated blood at the programme. He said creating awareness about blood donation remains the organisation’s primary mission.
Among those present at the event were Ward No. 11 councillor Shashi Singh Jha, Ward No. 10 councillor Manoj Singh, along with Santosh Singh, Rakesh Chaudhary, Vijay Pandey and several other local dignitaries.
