New Delhi, 10 May (H.S.): The 73rd edition of 'Fit India Sundays on Cycle' transformed the iconic Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi into a vibrant festival of patriotism, fitness, and national unity on Sunday morning, with armed forces personnel joining hands with civilians in a spirited cycling campaign. Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force jawans participated alongside citizens.

Over 800 people took part in the event, including 60 representatives from the armed forces (20 each from the Army, Navy, and Air Force), along with athletes, fitness enthusiasts, students, and their families. The program featured Indian Air Force Group Captain M.L.S. Prasad, Indian Army Lieutenant Colonel Dara Singh, and Indian Navy Captain Manish Sain, as well as wrestlers Priya Malik and Diksha Malik.

On this occasion, Group Captain M.L.S. Prasad stated, Today, I am representing the armed forces collectively. Our soldier-athletes are leading the cycling contingent, and we are delighted that 'Fit India' has organized this special edition for us. The armed forces' endeavor is to ensure that every citizen of the country remains fully fit and healthy.

Lieutenant Colonel Dara Singh praised the social message of the initiative, saying such events strengthen the spirit of de-addiction and discipline. Just as army personnel rise early in the morning and stay fit, every citizen should adopt a healthy lifestyle in the same manner.

Wrestler Diksha Malik also encouraged people to embrace an active lifestyle. She said, This is very good for health. Every individual, whether young or old, from any generation, should do it. There is joy, energy, and unity in it.

Zumba sessions, yoga demonstrations, skipping rope activities, volleyball games, lemon-spoon races, and entertainment zones kept participants engaged throughout the program. A special yoga consultation booth set up under the Ministry of AYUSH's 'Yoga 365' initiative drew large crowds, where participants underwent health check-ups and interacted with yoga experts.
