Guwahati, 10 May (HS): Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora on Sunday hailed the election of Himanta Biswa Sarma as the leader of both the BJP Legislature Party and the NDA Legislature Party in Assam, calling it a “matter of good fortune” for the state.

Addressing reporters after the NDA legislators’ meeting in Guwahati, Bora said the alliance was fortunate to have Sarma at the helm ahead of the formation of the new government in Assam. He expressed confidence that the NDA would continue to work unitedly under Sarma’s leadership.

Meanwhile, BJP MLA Shiladitya Dev also extended support to Sarma, stating that the senior BJP leader enjoys the trust and backing of all party leaders. Dev further remarked that Sarma is known for honouring and fulfilling his commitments.

Sarma was formally elected as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party and the NDA Legislature Party during a meeting of newly elected NDA legislators held in Guwahati on Sunday.------------
