Bhubaneswar, 06 April (H.S.): The Odisha government has assured that there is no shortage of LPG, petrol, or diesel in the state. Supply Secretary Sanjay Singh stated that several measures have been implemented over the past month to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential fuels.

He clarified that while minor issues in the availability of petrol and diesel have been reported in a few locations, the overall situation remains stable and there is no cause for concern. He emphasized that there is no shortage of LPG in the state.

Regarding 5 kg LPG cylinders, Singh stated that oil companies are distributing them through e-KYC verification, and there are no issues in their availability. Students and workers can obtain these cylinders by presenting valid identification. Oil companies are also organizing camps at various locations to facilitate distribution.

He further said that restrictions are only being imposed on unauthorized traders engaged in illegal business activities. The measures have been taken primarily to curb black marketing. As part of enforcement actions, the department has seized 3,105 tanks during raids conducted across different locations.

The department is also closely monitoring the availability and pricing of essential food items to prevent inflation and ensure that there is no artificial shortage in the market, he added.
