Hooghly, 06 April (H.S.): Mita Bag, the Trinamool Congress candidate from Arambagh Assembly Constituency, faced an unexpected trouble on Monday when her vehicle broke down while she was on her way to file her nomination.
Bag had started her nomination procession with a large rally from Sudhanil Cinema Hall towards the SDO office. However, after covering a short distance, her car developed a mechanical fault. Despite repeated attempts by supporters to push-start the vehicle, it failed to restart.
Eventually, she was forced to abandon the vehicle and walk to the office to complete the nomination process.
The incident has triggered discussions in political circles, with critics questioning the preparedness of the party on such an important day. Some have termed it a sign of poor management, while opposition parties called it an example of disorganized planning.
Meanwhile, TMC supporters tried to project the incident as a symbol of struggle and determination.
The episode has added a new dimension to the political atmosphere in Arambagh ahead of the Assembly elections.
