Murshidabad, 06 April (H.S.): Amid the ongoing election atmosphere in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, Abhishek Banerjee, National General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress, launched a sharp attack on the BJP during a public meeting on Monday. Addressing a rally at Sadikhardiar Vidyaniketan ground in Jalangi, he alleged that “three agencies” of the BJP are actively working in the district.
In his speech, Banerjee targeted the Election Commission of India, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and Humayun Kabir. He claimed that the same central security provided to Kabir and Owaisi is also being extended to Congress candidate Adhir Chowdhury.
Banerjee asserted that voting for any of these leaders would effectively amount to voting for the BJP. He urged the public not to fall prey to provocation or divisive tactics.
During the event, he campaigned in support of TMC candidates Babar Ali from Jalangi and Humayun Kabir from Domkal. He strongly criticised the BJP and what he described as its “agencies.”
According to Banerjee, the three “agencies” active in Murshidabad include the Election Commission, alleging under the leadership of Gyanesh Kumar that voter names are being removed; Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, whose security is handled by central forces under Union Home Minister Amit Shah; and leaders like Humayun Kabir and Asaduddin Owaisi.
Using sharp remarks, Banerjee also said that even mentioning certain parties creates a negative atmosphere at public meetings, indirectly accusing opposition groups of engaging in divisive politics.
