Guwahati, 30 April (HS): The Fast Track Court has rejected the bail plea of prime accused Shyamkanu Mahanta in the Zubeen Garg murder case, marking a significant development in the ongoing judicial proceedings. With this decision, the legal process in the case is expected to move forward more swiftly.
During the hearing, it was revealed that following Zubeen Garg’s death in Singapore, the accused had allegedly fled from Singapore to Malaysia. This aspect was highlighted as a crucial factor during the court proceedings.
Meanwhile, the hearing on the framing of charges in the case is currently underway and is being viewed as a critical stage in the trial. Arguments related to charge framing are continuously being presented before the court.
Notably, the court had earlier reserved its verdict on the bail plea after concluding the hearing on April 24 and had fixed April 30 for pronouncement of the order. With the bail now denied, attention has shifted to the upcoming stages of the trial.------------
