Silchar, 03 April (HS): Acting on credible input, a team from Silchar Police Station last late evening carried out a raid against narcotic substances and recovered suspected heroin worth approximately ₹31 lakh, official sources confirm on Friday.

During the operation, police seized five soap cases containing 61 grams of suspected heroin from the conscious possession of Abul Hussain Choudhury, son of late Aluding Choudhury. The accused is a resident of Kanakpur Part-II under Silchar Police Station and was apprehended from his rented accommodation.

Police officials stated that the seizure is part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region. Necessary legal action has been initiated in connection with the case.----------
