Lucknow, 3
April (HS): UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath pays tribute to Chhatrapati
Shivaji Maharaj on his death anniversary (April 3), describing him as a symbol
of unwavering fortitude, national dignity, and the originator of 'Hindavi
Swaraj'. Yogi recognizes his attempts to revive Sanatan culture. In 2026, he
announced a huge monument in Agra to honor the warrior monarch. CM Yogi
frequently promotes Shivaji Maharaj's bravery and devotion to the nation, which
is consistent with his government's emphasis on cultural heritage. CM Yogi
announced the construction of a huge memorial for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj
in Agra's Meena Bazar, replacing Mughal connotations with Maratha glories. He
cites Shivaji's dedication to justice, women's honor, and self-rule (Swaraj) as
motivation for the nation. The tributes
are part of a larger attempt to foster national unity and honor Shivaji as a
real national hero.
In
a post on X, he mentioned, “A symbol of indomitable courage, unparalleled
valor, and excellent good governance, the founder of Hindavi
Swaraj, the national leader, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, we pay tribute
to him on his death anniversary. His dedicated life and high ideals for
protecting the motherland and restoring the glory of Sanatan culture are a
great inspiration to all of us.”
