Varanasi, April 28 (HS): Prime
Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi
for the 54th time on Tuesday. BJP workers and the general public are
ready to welcome the Prime Minister, who is coming to Kashi on a two-day visit.
People are eagerly awaiting a grand welcome for the Prime Minister. The entire
city has been decorated like a bride to welcome him. The route along with the
public meeting venue is adorned with BJP flags and huge posters, banners, and
cutouts of the Prime Minister. Preparations for the Prime Minister's public
meeting continued throughout the city since early morning.
The Prime Minister will arrive at
Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur at 2 p.m. From there, he
will fly to Bareka by an Air Force helicopter. At 5 p.m., he will address a
women's conference from a stage set up at the Bareka Inter College grounds.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday,
where he will attend a women's convention in Varanasi and lay the groundwork
for many development projects totaling Rs 6,350 crore. According to an official
release, he will also address a meeting in his parliamentary seat. Modi will
travel to Hardoi on Wednesday to open the Ganga Expressway and address a crowd.
The prime minister will attend the Mahila Sammelan, which will draw a
significant number of women from around the area. He will dedicate 48 finished projects worth
more than Rs 1,050 crore to the country while also laying the groundwork for
112 projects worth over Rs 5,300 crore.
Key infrastructure projects include the completion of the Varanasi-Azamgarh
road expansion, the opening of vital rail overbridges at Kazzakpura and Kadipur,
and the construction of a 55 MLD sewage treatment facility at Bhagwanpur, among
others. On Tuesday, Modi will also inaugurate two new Amrit Bharat Express
trains, from Varanasi to Pune (Hadapsar) and Ayodhya to Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak
Terminus), as part of a substantial drive to improve rail connection between
Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. The move is likely to considerably assist state
travelers, notably pilgrims, students, migrant workers, and small traders who
often travel between north India and Maharashtra, according to the statement.
This effort is particularly important in Uttar Pradesh since it promotes both
religious tourism and economic mobility.
Varanasi and Ayodhya, as prominent spiritual attractions, draw millions of
Hindus each year. Improved train connectivity to major cities such as Mumbai
and Pune is projected to enhance tourism, allow easier movement of people, and
support livelihoods in these industries, it noted. On Wednesday, Prime Minister
Narendra Modi will pray at Varanasi's Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple. He will
next go to Hardoi, where he will open the Ganga Expressway at 11.30 a.m. and
address a throng. The Ganga Expressway is a 594-kilometer-long, six-lane
access-controlled greenfield high-speed highway costing Rs 36,230 crore.
The expressway connects the state's western, central, and eastern areas with
a single seamless high-speed corridor, passing through 12 districts: Meerut,
Bulandshahr, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao,
Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj.
The project is projected to cut travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from
10-12 hours to around six hours, improving mobility and efficiency in
transportation. A crucial feature of the project is the construction of a 3.5-kilometer-long
Emergency Landing Facility (airstrip) in Shahjahanpur district. This dual-use
infrastructure improves national security preparation and offers strategic
value in addition to economic benefits, according to the statement.
The Ganga Expressway will also act
as the backbone of the state's expressway network. The statement said that
other connection corridors are either operating or planned, including the
Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Jewar connection Expressway, Farrukhabad Link
Expressway, and the projected Meerut-Haridwar extension.
According to BJP Kashi region
president Dilip Patel, from the public meeting venue, the Prime Minister will
unveil 163 projects worth Rs. 6,332 crore for his parliamentary constituency,
Varanasi. These include the inauguration of 50 projects worth Rs. 1,054.69
crore and the foundation stone laying of 113 projects worth Rs. 5,277.39 crore.
He will also transfer a bonus of Rs. 105 crore to lakhs of dairy farmers
associated with Banas (Amul). He will also flag off two new Amrit Bharat
Express trains: Varanasi-Pune (Hadapsar) and Ayodhya-Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak
Terminus). After a night's rest, he will visit the Baba Vishwanath Temple the next
day.
