New Delhi, 27 April (H.S.): The Central Government has invited nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2026, the country’s highest civilian honour for children, with the last date for submissions fixed at July 31, 2026. The Ministry of Women and Child Development announced the call for nominations in a statement on Monday, describing the award as a prestigious, national‑level recognition for outstanding Indian children.

The award is open to any Indian citizen residing in India, aged between 5 and 18 years as of July 31, 2026. Children may be considered in categories such as bravery, sports, social service, science and technology, environment, art and culture, and related fields where they have achieved exceptional and nationally recognised accomplishments.

Nominations for the Prime Minister’s National Child Award will be accepted only through the official Rashtriya Puraskar Portal at https://awards.gov.in. Both self‑nominations (by the child or guardian) and recommendations (by individuals, institutions or officials) are eligible and will be considered during shortlisting.

The Ministry has clarified that online applications must be submitted by July 31, 2026, after which the window will close.

Further details regarding eligibility, documentation, fields of achievement and the selection process are available on the National Awards Portal, where interested candidates and nominators can also access FAQs and application‑help resources.
