Check-ups and Awareness Programs Successfully Organized
Prayagraj,
April 24 (HS): The '8th Poshan Pakhwada' (Nutrition Fortnight) was organized
with immense enthusiasm and success by the Central Hospital, North Central Railway,
Prayagraj, from April 9, 2026, to April 23, 2026. The primary objective of this
fortnight-long event was to disseminate awareness regarding better health and
proper nutrition among railway employees and their families, particularly
children.
The
successful execution of this entire event was ensured under the expert guidance
of Medical Director Dr. S.K. Handu and Chief Medical Superintendent Dr.
Surendranath. All activities conducted during the fortnight successfully
achieved their intended goals. Under the ambit of the Poshan Pakhwada, special
emphasis was placed on children's health. In health camps organized by an
expert team comprising Dr. Kalpana Mishra, Dr. Anurag Yadav, Dr. Sidra, and Dr.
Rohit Kumar, the physical and mental development of a total of 179 children
underwent meticulous examination. The doctors assessed the children's
developmental parameters and provided necessary medical advice to their
parents.
During
the fortnight, creative mediums were utilized to effectively convey the importance
of health and nutrition. In this regard, a total of four major awareness
programs were organized by expert doctors and dietitians. To educate the
general public in an accessible manner, impactful street plays (Nukkad Nataks)
were staged. A total of 603 railway employees and their family members
participated enthusiastically in these programs, gaining valuable insights
regarding nutrition. This successful initiative has not only awakened health
consciousness within the 'Railway Family' but has also paved the way for a
healthy lifestyle in the future.
