Kolkata, 23 April (H.S.): Amid the ongoing West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026, senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of playing a “sympathy card” to influence voters.
Ghosh alleged that the ruling All India Trinamool Congress is trying to gain public support by projecting emotional narratives instead of addressing key issues. He claimed that such tactics would not work this time, asserting that voters are looking for change.
Expressing confidence in his party’s prospects, Ghosh said that the BJP is in a strong position and is likely to emerge victorious in the current Assembly elections. He emphasized that public sentiment is shifting in favor of the BJP across the state.
The remarks come at a time when the electoral battle in West Bengal has intensified, with sharp exchanges between the BJP and the Trinamool Congress. Both parties have been actively campaigning and accusing each other of misleading voters.
The elections, being held in multiple phases, are seen as a crucial test for Mamata Banerjee’s leadership as well as the BJP’s expansion efforts in the state.
