Following detection of sexual exploitation by fraudster Ashok Kharat and sexual

abuse and religious conversion in TCS in Nashik, another case of a sexual abuse

by a Baba has come to the fore.

Lasalgaon police has arrested Maheshgiri alias

Mahesh Dilip Kakde on the charges of sexual exploitation of a woman in the name

of witchcraft. The 28-year-old woman lodged a complaint with the Lasalgaon

Police in Nashik District. Maheshgiri exploited the complainant in the name of

spiritual treatment on the victim affected by witchcraft. The complainant works

as a security guard and was under stress due to problems in her family. Her

family members took her to a temple in Dharangaon Khadak, where she met

Maheshgiri.

In the name of treatment over witchcraft Maheshgiri

sexual exploited her and also threatened her not to disclose it to anyone or

approach police. The victim after some time approached the Andhashraddha

Nirmoolan Samiti which helped her to lodge a police complaint.

Lasalgaon police arrested Maheshgiri following the

complaint and are investigating into the case.

Meanwhile, police and Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samit

have appealed to the people not to fall prey to such superstitions. They have

also appealed to lodge complaint if they find any such case.
