Kolkata, 20 April (H.S.):

Senior BJP leader Dilip Ghosh on Monday claimed that political change is now clearly visible in West Bengal, asserting that public sentiment in the state has shifted significantly ahead of the Assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters in Kharagpur, BJP candidate from Kharagpur Sadar, Dilip Ghosh, said people are now openly expressing their protest against the ruling dispensation. He added that the confidence level among party workers has risen and signs of change are evident across the state.

“People are protesting openly now. The confidence of our party members has increased, and change is certainly visible. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed four rallies yesterday. He is continuously campaigning from North Bengal to South Bengal and is fully aware of what is happening on the ground,” Ghosh said.

Launching an attack on the Trinamool Congress, the BJP leader alleged that the ruling party remembers government employees, women and youth only during elections. He claimed that employees in the state face harassment and accused the party of using election-time promises for political gain.

Criticising political consultancy firm I-PAC, Ghosh said such organisations should have no role in state politics. He alleged that I-PAC has contributed to corruption and has become a tool for earning money by encouraging unethical political practices.

On the Enforcement Directorate’s ongoing actions in the state, Ghosh said the central agency has been working for the past year and is conducting investigations wherever corruption is widespread across the country. He alleged that West Bengal ranks among the states with the highest levels of corruption and claimed that several politicians and businessmen are under scrutiny.

“The investigations will continue,” he added.
