Lucknow, 2
April (HS): On Thursday, Samajwadi Party (SP) head Akhilesh Yadav accused the
BJP of attempting to influence elections in multiple states in cooperation with
the Election Commission (EC), and said that his party is planning to battle
such conspiracies to form a PDA government in Uttar Pradesh. Addressing a news
conference after meeting with the party cadre, Yadav stated that SP members
have underlined their commitment to strengthening the PDA (Backwards, Dalits,
Minorities) plank. Previously, these organizational members performed
admirably. In 2024, all of these colleagues will increase the PDA's voice and
continue the battle for social justice with popular support, he added.
The former
Uttar Pradesh chief minister stated that the SP is forging on with its plans to
create a government in the state based on the PDA framework. We are resolved
that in the near future, we will build a PDA government and achieve social
justice at the state level, he stated. Yadav asserted that after
elections in other states were completed, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
officials and people will turn their attention to Uttar Pradesh We know
that as soon as the elections in other states are over, the entire BJP machinery
will move to Uttar Pradesh. We are keenly monitoring how the EC and the BJP
collaborate in the states where elections are taking place,” he added.
Yadav
urged SP workers to be attentive, saying, Be alert, understand their
conspiracies, and work on the ground to ensure that a progressive Samajwadi
government is formed in Uttar Pradesh. He slammed the BJP administration,
saying, It has failed to bring 'acche din' (good days), but the public
has now realized that their bad days are about to end. Referring to
occurrences in West Bengal, Yadav questioned the decision to remove key
officials ahead of elections. When elections are declared, authorities are
expected to adhere to the EC's instructions. Many high-ranking officials in
West Bengal have been sacked, including the chief secretary and director
general of police, he claimed.
If any
unpleasant incidence occurs, the EC is also held accountable. Our issue is:
despite numerous protests from the Samajwadi Party, how many officials were
dismissed during the previous Uttar Pradesh election? He inquired, claiming
that officials had then worked as BJP operatives, but no action had been taken
against them. Many senior administrative and police personnel of West Bengal,
including the chief secretary and the DGP, were moved once the state's election
dates were published. Yadav stated that even authorities are disillusioned.
Many
officials are dissatisfied because of corruption inside the BJP. They are under
pressure and have not received justice despite the labor stolen from them (by
the ruling party), he stated.
Yadav
claimed financial anomalies, saying, We are hearing that fake currency is
circulating within the country while real money is going outside.
Wherever wrongdoing occurs in Uttar Pradesh, BJP members are engaged. Referring
to a recent kidney-related instance in Kanpur, the former chief minister
claimed BJP involvement, but did not disclose specifics. On farmers'
difficulties, Yadav stated that the BJP had failed to keep its pledge of
doubling their income. Farmers are struggling due to increased fuel, petrol,
fertiliser, and seed prices. He stated that farmers, in particular, should not
have high expectations of the BJP. He said that the Samajwadi Party could
provide greater pay and fair rates for farmers' goods in the future.
