Guwahati, 02 April (HS): With political activities intensifying ahead of the Assam Legislative Assembly elections, senior leaders from various parties have stepped up their campaign efforts across the state. In this context, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is arriving in Assam today on a one-day visit to further boost the Congress party’s campaign.

As per the schedule, Rahul Gandhi will depart from Delhi by a special flight and land at Dimapur airport. From there, he will travel by helicopter to Bokajan in Karbi Anglong district, where he is set to address a major public rally.

Following the Bokajan meeting, he will proceed to Titabor in Jorhat district to address another important public meeting and interact with voters in Upper Assam. He is likely to return to Delhi later in the day by a special flight from Jorhat.

The visit comes after a series of high-profile campaign tours by Congress leaders, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had campaigned in the state on Wednesday in support of BJP and NDA candidates. Senior leaders like Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah have also addressed rallies in different parts of Assam.

On the other hand, Priyanka Gandhi is scheduled to visit Assam again on April 4 to continue campaigning for party and alliance candidates. Rahul Gandhi is also expected to return on April 5 for further rallies in Bokajan and Dhemaji, while Mallikarjun Kharge is likely to visit the state on April 6, intensifying the electoral fight further.-----------
