Barpeta (Assam), 02 April (HS): Asaduddin Owaisi, president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), on Thursday addressed a massive election rally of All India United Democratic Front at Kayakuchi in the Paka Betbari assembly constituency, extending strong support to the party while launching sharp attacks on both the Congress and the BJP.

Addressing the gathering, Owaisi alleged that Muslims in India have faced sustained oppression over the past several decades and accused all major political parties of failing the community. He criticized both the Congress and the BJP, alleging that actions such as eviction drives and police encounters in Assam have disproportionately affected minorities.

Owaisi appealed to voters to support AIUDF candidate Meenakshi Rahman and cast their votes in favour of the party’s symbol. Taking a dig at Congress candidate Zakir Hussain Sikdar, he claimed that electing Congress would ultimately benefit the BJP, alleging political opportunism.

Emphasizing that AIUDF alone could safeguard the interests of Muslims, Owaisi urged voters to unite behind the party. He also dismissed allegations that AIUDF acts as an agent of the BJP, asserting its independent political stance.

During his speech, Owaisi further called upon the Assam Chief Minister to uphold the Constitution and ensure protection of citizens' rights. The rally witnessed a significant turnout, reflecting strong political mobilization in the constituency ahead of the elections.--------
