Selective Security For MLAs Is Mockery Of Democracy: J&K Dy CM

Jammu, 02 April (H.S.): The Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Thursday said that necessary clearances and infrastructure upgrades are essential to address rising traffic challenges and ensure smooth road connectivity in key industrial areas of the Union Territory.

Dy CM Choudhary, informed the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly that a significant portion of the proposed road alignment falls within forest land, making prior forest clearance mandatory before execution of the project.

The Deputy CM said that the existing carriageway, with an approximate width of 5.5 meters, is insufficient to handle the growing traffic load. He highlighted that increased vehicular movement, particularly due to the industrial growth centre at Lassipora, has added pressure on the road infrastructure.

He stressed the need for widening and upgradation of the road to ensure smooth traffic flow and improved connectivity in the area.
