Amravati, 02 Apr (HS): The leprosy affected persons

in Vidarbha Maharogi Seva Mandal’s Tapovan, in Amravati district are suffering

to provide food to about 450 inmates (patients and staff), due to shortage of

LPG Cylinders. They are required collect fuel for the traditional earthen stove

and managed part of the breakfast and tea.

A social organisation ‘Mauli’ has come forward with

other social workers joined hands to manage daily meals for these 450 inmates

of Tapovan. A request letter has been submitted to the District Collector to

provide LPG cylinders on priority basis to Tapovan. Some of the leprosy

patients are very old and are unable to work.

The condition is not limited to Tapovan, but various

other social organisations working for serving the deprived sections of the

society.
