
New Delhi, 18 April (H.S.): On the sacred occasion of Prakash Parv of Guru Angad Dev, the second Guru of the Sikh faith, senior political leaders, including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, paid rich tributes and extended heartfelt greetings to the Sikh community and all citizens of the country.
In a posting on the social‑media platform X, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla honored Guru Angad Dev, stating that through his life and teachings the Guru carried forward the great Sikh tradition of humanity, selfless service, and discipline. He emphasized that Guru Angad’s ideals will continue to inspire and guide society on the path of righteousness and moral integrity.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah highlighted that Guru Angad Dev had made service, devotion, and social reform the very foundation of his life. He noted that by developing the Gurmukhi script and strengthening the institution of Langar, Guru Angad propagated the message of equality, unity, and fraternity among people of all backgrounds.
Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also bowed before Guru Angad Dev, describing the Guru’s contributions as a perennial source of inspiration for society and a guiding light for ethical conduct and collective welfare.
In his message, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan invoked the triad of dharma, spirituality, and creativity, paying homage to Guru Angad Dev as the ocean of grace, service, and compassion—the second Guru of the Sikhs—on whose sacred Prakash Parv he offered his obeisance at the Guru’s feet.
He said that the luminous words of the Guru would continue to bring peace, wisdom, and well‑being to the world.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, in his greeting, stressed that Guru Angad Dev’s role in spreading the Gurmukhi script and fortifying the Langar tradition has infused fresh strength into social cohesion and human values. He added that the Guru’s inspiring ideas would continue to motivate society to walk the path of service, harmony, and goodwill.
Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal extolled Guru Angad Dev as an ocean of service, mercy, and compassion, and conveyed his warm wishes on the occasion of the Guru’s Prakash Parv, urging people to draw moral strength from the Guru’s life.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh extended congratulations to all on the Prakash Parv of Guru Angad Dev, underscoring that the Guru’s profound teachings and unwavering commitment to human service would always inspire people to tread the righteous path of truth and compassion.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Singh Sandhu and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also extended their greetings to the Sikh community and all devotees, acknowledging the spiritual and social significance of the day.
