Baghpat, April 18 (HS): Hindu organizations protested in Baghpat today
against the alleged love jihad scandal involving the TCS Company in
Nashik, Maharashtra. Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal activists burned an
effigy of love jihad at Rashtavandana Chowk on the Delhi-Saharanpur
Highway.
In Baghpat district, the Vishwa
Hindu Parishad (VHP) Bajrang Dal organized effigy burnings at several
locations, including Baraut and Baghpat. Carrying placards and banners
condemning illegal religious conversions, land jihad, activists formed human
chains and took to the streets. They raised slogans against love jihad, illegal
religious conversions, and the Nashik incident. Activists stated that Hindu
organizations are deeply angered by the Nashik incident. Organization officials
demanded strict action in this matter.
The burning of effigies and the
sloganeering of love jihad disrupted traffic on the Delhi-Saharanpur Highway in
Baraut and Baghpat for some time, leading to long traffic queues. Police spoke
with the activists and restored traffic. The demonstration remained peaceful
despite the presence of police. Protesters demanded strict action from the
administration in such cases to maintain peace and harmony in society. Police
officials appealed to the protesters to maintain peace. A large number of
workers and office bearers including Sagar Kashyap, Nitin Goswami, Ravi
Shastri, Sanjay, Yogesh Rana, Pradeep, Vineet Goswami, Arjun Mehndi Hasan etc.
were present.
