
Mirzapur, April 18 (HS): In Uttar
Pradesh's Mirzapur district, a truck driver carrying groceries from Kolkata to
Madhya Pradesh died after his health deteriorated on the way. The incident
occurred around midnight near Devhat village, in the Drummondganj police
station area. Police sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Station House
Officer Bharat Suman said that 45-year-old Parvez Alam, a resident of Bhopal,
was traveling on the Varanasi-Rewa National Highway when his health suddenly
deteriorated. He parked his truck on the side of the road and alerted a fellow
driver following behind him, but he fell unconscious shortly afterward.
Local resident Suresh Bind called the helpline 112. The PRV team arrived at
the scene and sent him by ambulance to the Primary Health Center in Halia,
where Dr. Vivek Khare declared him dead. According to the doctor, he had died
before reaching the hospital. Fellow driver Mohammad Puranuddin said that the
two were carrying groceries from Kolkata to Jabalpur and Bhopal in separate
trucks. The deceased suffered from diabetes and blood pressure. Police have
sent the body for post-mortem examination and have begun investigating the
case. Police have informed the family about the incident.
