Jamshedpur, 18 April (H.S.):
Former Jharkhand chief ministers and senior BJP leaders slammed the Congress and other INDIA bloc constituents for the defeat of the Constitution amendment bill to implement 33 per cent reservation for women in legislatures in 2029.
Ex-CM Raghubar Das said the true colour of the so-called women-friendly parties had been exposed when it came to giving due rights to women, who constitute half of the country's population.
Former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren also criticised the opposition parties for blocking the passage of the bill in Lok Sabha, claiming that this was an insult to 'Nari Shakti' (women's power).
