Amritsar, 18 April (H.S.): Amritsar police have busted smuggling operations in two separate cases, recovering 2.29 kg of heroin and two modern Glock pistols. The joint action by police and security agencies has sent a strong message to drug traffickers and criminal networks.
In the first case, Lopoke police, in coordination with the Border Security Force, conducted a joint operation and seized approximately 2.29 kg of heroin. Investigations revealed that drones were being used to smuggle the contraband, and one such drone has also been recovered.
Preliminary findings suggest that the consignment was sent from across the Pakistan border and dropped into Indian territory using drone technology, indicating cross-border involvement in the smuggling racket.
In the second case, police recovered two advanced Glock pistols. According to officials, these weapons are considered highly sophisticated and are typically used in organized crime and serious criminal activities. Police are now investigating the network behind these weapons and trying to determine their intended use. Officials stated that further investigations are underway in both cases, and more major revelations are expected in the coming days.
