Amravati, 18 Apr (HS); Small traders and resort owners

are worried over rising temperature in Chikhaldara, which is a popular hill station

attracting large number of tourists during summer.

Chikhaldara attracts a large number of tourists

during summer. The turn=out was expected to be higher this year following

construction of skywalk between two points on the hill. Small traders earn for

almost the entire year during this season. With the temperature soaring up to

41 degree Celsius in the beginning of second fortnight of April the number of tourists

has started going down..

The high temperature has also affected wildlife

sighting due to depleting water in the water bodies. Changing climate and

pollution has also affected the pleasure of enjoying trips to the area.

The environmentalists and villagers have been

seriously thinking of plantation in the region and to conserve nature so that

Chikhaldara should not lose its identity as the most popular hill station in

the Vidarbha region.
