Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed profound sorrow over the tragic bus accident in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib district.

The devastating incident occurred around 10:00 PM on Tuesday near Himmatpura village on the Morinda-Chunni road in Bassi Pathana. A bus carrying approximately 40 devotees from Main Majri village overturned due to a suspected mechanical malfunction while returning from Anandpur Sahib after Baisakhi celebrations. Six people, including a woman, perished, and 21 others sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to hospitals in Morinda, Fatehgarh Sahib, and critically wounded patients referred to PGIMER Chandigarh.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan expressed on social media platform X: Deeply saddened to learn about the bus accident in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab.

He extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.

The Prime Minister's Office posted Wednesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated: Deeply pained by the accident in Fatehgarh Sahib district, Punjab.

My heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.
