Sonitpur (Assam), 15 April (HS): A tragic road accident occurred in Rangapara area of Sonitpur district last night, where a scooty rider lost control and crashed by the roadside, leading to the death of one youth on the spot and leaving another seriously injured.

According to reports, the scooty lost balance and veered off the road, resulting in a severe accident. The deceased has been identified as Rohit Karmakar, who killed instantly due to the impact.

Another youth, identified as Mohit Rajbanshi, sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was initially provided medical attention and later referred to Tezpur for advanced treatment.

Both the youths were reportedly travelling from Rangapara towards Missamari when the mishap took place. Further details are awaited.-----------
