April 15 (HS): Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh will
inaugurate Eastern UP's first Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Maharana Pratap
Institute of Technology (MPIT), Gorakhpur, which was created in collaboration
with the TCS Foundation (Tata Group). This Rs. 50 crore facility near
Gorakhnath Temple focuses on developing regional skills in AI, Cyber Security,
Drones, and Space Technology.
The
CoE is collaboration between MPIT, TCS Foundation, and Mahayogi Gorakhnath
University that aims to educate students in sophisticated technologies. CM Yogi
will unveil the facility in the presence of Tata Sons Chairman N.
Chandrasekaran. A 60-day free AI and cybersecurity training course has been
organized to try a world record, with enrollment controlled by iur.ls/MPIT_AI. CoE
offers specialized laboratories for AI (Rs. 9.56 crore), Cybersecurity (Rs. 6.19
crore), and Drone/Space Technology, benefiting 15 AICTE-approved universities
in the area.
The
program intends to improve employment and build a startup ecosystem in Eastern
Uttar Pradesh, which aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat goal. The
initiative, which includes a unique AI Awareness for Farmers class,
is a crucial step toward establishing Gorakhpur as a technological education
hub.
In
a post on X, UP CM mentioned, “A milestone in the field of education is set to
be established today in Gorakhpur, the abode of great yogi Guru Shri
Gorakhnath. A Center of Excellence, operated in collaboration with the Tata
Group, will be inaugurated today at the Maharana Pratap Institute of
Technology. This institute will accelerate the resolve for a developed
India by providing new opportunities, new energy, and new direction to
the youth and will prove to be a strong foundation for empowering and making
them self-reliant.”
