Majuli (Assam), 15 April (HS): Upholding a 300-year-old tradition, devotees and Vaishnavites at Aauniati Satra in Majuli celebrated the first day of Bohag with the age-old ritual of mud play, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Assam.

The unique celebration saw satra devotees enthusiastically participating in the traditional “boka khel” (mud play), symbolizing joy, unity and the spirit of Rongali Bihu. The atmosphere at the historic satra turned vibrant as participants immersed themselves in the playful ritual.

Maintained over generations, this customary practice continues to draw attention for its cultural significance, with devotees expressing immense joy and devotion while taking part in the festivities.----------
