Noida,
April 15 (HS): Officials stated on Wednesday that a FIR had been filed against
RJD spokespersons Priyanka Bharti and Kanchana Yadav at the Gautam Buddha Nagar
cyber police station for posting a video on social media that was linked to a
Noida workers' protest.
Rashtriya
Janata Dal leaders have been accused of tying an event in Madhya Pradesh in
which a man was beaten up by police to ongoing labour demonstrations in Noida,
as well as stoking unrest by posting about the topic on X.
Police
have also filed a FIR against the X handle @ItsKtyni and a Facebook page named
Jitendra Sharma Dausa. They've also been accused of distributing a video from
Madhya Pradesh and pretending it was about happenings in Noida. Officials say
that all of the accused sought to propagate misinformation during the Noida
demonstrations.
On
Monday, hundreds of manufacturing workers in Noida, including women, went on
strike to seek salary increases and other benefits. Protests had turned violent
in several locations, with burning, stone-throwing, and destruction. Some have
criticized the police for how they handled protests, despite the fact that the
police claim they used only minimal force.
Following
the incident, RJD spokespersons Yadav and Bharti posted a video of the guy
being beaten up on social media and openly criticized police. According to the
Uttar Pradesh Police, the video shared on Facebook by Jitendra Kumar Dausa
began in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, when a drunken man was causing public
disturbance. According to investigators, all of the accused persons uploaded
this video while falsely stating that it portrayed events in Noida and included
deceptive captions.
