Guwahati, 15 April (HS): Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma extended warm greetings to the people of Assam on the occasion of the Assamese New Year, coinciding with the vibrant celebrations of Rongali Bihu across the state.

The festive spirit has gripped Assam, with people celebrating with traditional music and cultural fervour. The sounds of dhol, pepa, and gagana echo across towns and villages, symbolizing joy, renewal and the arrival of a new year.

In a message shared on social media, the Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt wishes, expressing hope that the new year brings happiness, peace and prosperity to all. He also emphasized the importance of renewed energy and collective efforts towards the holistic development of Assam in the coming year.

On the first morning of the month of Bohag, Sarma sought the blessings of the people and wished for continued progress and well-being for every citizen of the state.----------
