
Srinagar, 15 April (H.S.): In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, police in Bijbehara on Wednesday seized four residential houses belonging to individuals allegedly involved in a narcotics case, with officials stating that the properties were identified as proceeds of illegal drug trade.
Police spokesperson in a statement, In against drug-related activities, Police in Bijbehara have seized four residential houses belonging to individuals allegedly involved in a narcotics case registered under the NDPS Act.
Officials said the action was taken in connection with FIR No. 50/2021 under sections 8/20-29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Bijbehara.
The seized properties include a double-storey house valued at approximately ₹1 crore owned by Rayees Ahmed Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, a resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara. Another single-storey house worth around ₹30 lakh belongs to Sabzar Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Rajab Dar of the same locality.
Additionally, a single-storey residential house valued at ₹65 lakh belonging to Mudasir Ahmed Dar, son of Abdul Rahim Dar, and another single-storey house worth ₹30 lakh owned by Zahid Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar, both residents of Tulkhan Bijbehara, were also seized.
Police stated that all four accused are involved in the said NDPS case, and the properties were identified as proceeds of illegal narcotics trade.
The move is part of an intensified crackdown to curb drug trafficking and dismantle its financial networks in the region. Further investigation is underway.
