Chandrapur, 14 Apr (HS): a 65-year-old woman was

killed in an attack by a tiger on Monday, when she was collecting Mahua flowers

in Gunjewahi tehsil of Chandrapur district.

The deceased was identified as Wachhala Ishwar

Wadgure. On getting the news about her death in tiger attack a large number of

villagers gathered at the site. Before the villagers could reach the site for

her rescue she died.

Forest Department personnel also rushed to the site

and initiated enquiry into the attack. The body was referred to Sindewahi Rural

Hospital for the post-mortem. The villagers are living under fear due to

presence of tiger in their region.
