April 14 (HS): According to sources, an Uttar Pradesh Police sub-inspector was
dismissed after reportedly skipping duty and being discovered drunk during
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's event in Muzaffarnagar. According to Circle
Officer Yatendra Nagar, Sub-Inspector Chaube Singh was suspended for failing to
appear for duty during the CM's visit on Monday and reportedly being under the
influence of alcohol. He said that a video circulated on social media showing
Singh intoxicated.
Singh,
who works at Fugana police station, was allegedly discovered inebriated in the
Sadar tehsil office after being absent from job, and the video was captured and
disseminated online, according to Nagar. The officer further stated that Singh
was suspended following a medical test. Chief Minister Adityanath went to
Muzaffarnagar on Monday to launch an exhibition and attend other official events,
according to police.
