Dehradun, April 12 (H.S.) — The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has taken major action against an organized racket involved in preparing fake arms licenses and getting them registered in Uttarakhand using documents from other states. One आरोपी (accused) has been arrested. A fake arms license has been recovered from his possession.
According to the STF, the operation was carried out under “Operation Prahar”, during which complaints were being investigated regarding fake arms licenses prepared in other states and registered in Uttarakhand on the basis of forged No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
The arrested accused has been identified as Amit Yadav, son of Dalchand Yadav, resident of Hanumant Residency, Shimla Bypass Road, Dehradun. During the investigation, it was revealed that an arms license, shown to be issued from Amritsar (Punjab), was in fact not issued from there and had been registered in Uttarakhand using forged documents.
Senior Superintendent of Police (STF) Ajay Singh stated that through this network, fake arms licenses were being prepared in other states and then registered as valid across various districts of Uttarakhand. Considering the seriousness of the case, a detailed investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to trace other individuals connected to the racket.
During interrogation, information about several other fake licenses and associated individuals has also come to light, and their verification process is underway. The entire network will be identified and further action will be taken accordingly.
He added that strict surveillance is being maintained in the state on illegal activities and suspicious arms license holders, and continuous action will be taken in such cases.
