Jammu, 12 April (H.S.): A 40-year-old man was murdered at Gorkha Nagar locality here, officials said.

The deceased individual has been identified as Rattan Bahadur (Raja) son of Tikka Ram of Gorkha Nagar, Jammu.

Officials said the victim was assaulted using a sharp weapon (Khukri) around 9:30 PM on Friday by one person in the presence of some 4-5 other individuals after an altercation broke out between the duo over some pending issues.

He was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, they said.

While the key accused in the crime, identified as Shiva of Gorkha Nagar, has been arrested, a case under the relevant sections of the law has also been registered at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and further investigation taken up.
