Bhubaneswar, 10 April (H.S.): The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (BSE) has extended the last date for submission of online applications for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026 to May 9, 2026.
The earlier deadline, which was set for April 9, has been revised after several candidates were unable to complete their applications within the stipulated time. The extension aims to provide aspirants with additional time to complete the process without facing last-minute technical difficulties.
Sources indicate that over 70,000 candidates have already applied for the examination, including a significant number of in-service teachers. With the extended deadline, the total number of applications is expected to exceed one lakh.
The OTET is a mandatory eligibility examination for candidates aspiring to teach Classes I to VIII in government and private schools across Odisha. The examination is tentatively scheduled to be held on May 29, 2026.
Candidates are advised to complete their application and fee payment through the official websites within the revised deadline.
In an official notification, the Board stated that the last date for submission of online applications for OTET-2026 (in-service and fresh candidates), earlier scheduled for April 9, has been extended to May 9, 2026.
