
Hooghly, 10 April (H.S.): A large roadshow was held on Friday in Khanakul of Hooghly district in support of Indian Secular Front (ISF) candidate Saddam Hussain, with party MLA Nausad Siddiqui leading the programme.
The roadshow witnessed significant political enthusiasm and a large turnout of supporters. According to local sources, the procession passed through various parts of Khanakul, with the area resonating with party flags and slogans. A considerable number of party workers and supporters took part in the event.
During the roadshow, Nausad Siddiqui targeted the ruling party on several issues, stating that the ISF is fighting for the interests of common people and would receive public support in the upcoming elections.
ISF candidate Saddam Hussain also assured that he would stand by the people, adding that development of the area and resolution of public grievances remain his top priorities.
Police presence was heightened in the area in view of the programme, though the event concluded peacefully.
