Udhampur, 01 April (H.S.): SSP Udhampur has dismissed Constable Arjun Sharma (No. 886/U, PID No. EXJ-126992) from service with immediate effect for his involvement in a narcotics-related case.

The action follows a departmental enquiry in connection with case FIR No. 170/2025 under the NDPS Act of Police Station Rehmbal. Investigation and enquiry established that the official was apprehended during naka checking by the Police team of PP Tikri and contraband heroin was recovered from his possession, later confirmed by FSL.

The misconduct was found to be grave and unbecoming of a police official. After due process, including a show cause notice, the reply submitted was found unsatisfactory.

Accordingly, in the exercise of powers under Rule 359 of the J&K Police Rule, the official has been “DISMISSED” from service.
