Sonitpur (Assam), 01 April (H.S.): Gorkha organisations have dismissed the alleged attack on Congress candidate Sunil Chhetri in Naduar as “false and fabricated,” following an on-ground inquiry by their representatives.

A delegation of the All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union and Gorkha Sammelan from Lakhimpur district visited Naduar to assess the situation after the incident triggered reactions within the Gorkha community. The team interacted with local residents, political representatives, and also inspected the reported site of the incident.

Speaking on the matter, chief advisor of Lakhimpur District Gorkha Sammelan, Bishnu Dahal, and regional president of the Gorkha Students’ Union (Rajgarh unit), Bikash Sharma, stated that the alleged attack on Sunil Chhetri by BJP workers was “baseless and stage-managed.”

The delegation later addressed a press conference in Jamugurihat, where they shared their findings and urged people to maintain peace and harmony. They also appealed to members of the Gorkha community across the state not to make statements without understanding the facts of the incident.-----------
