New Delhi, 09 March (H.S.): The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has crowned Reliance Jio the fastest for data downloads in Puducherry after rigorous February tests across the city and surrounding areas, clocking an average of 253.84 Mbps. Airtel trailed at 163.82 Mbps, while Vodafone Idea (Vi) managed 22.05 Mbps and BSNL lagged at 12.71 Mbps.

Voice Services Edge to Airtel, ViAirtel and Vi dominated call performance with near-perfect 100% Call Setup Success Rates (CSSR) and zero drop rates. Jio scored a robust 98.84% CSSR with 0.39% drops, but BSNL trailed at 90.91% CSSR and 1.46% drops.

Upload Speeds: Airtel Leads

Airtel topped uploads at 27.94 Mbps, followed by Jio (16.92 Mbps), Vi (13.03 Mbps), and BSNL (5.11 Mbps). Weak signal incidents were minimal: Airtel (1.17%), Vi (1.60%), Jio (2.42%), BSNL (6.93%).

Tests spanned 313.2 km across Puducherry locales like Sembakkam, Sedarapet, Villianur, Lawspet, White Town, Muthialpet, Murungapakkam, Ariyankuppam, Thavalakuppam, Embalam, Bahour, Kanniyakoil, Kalapet, Pillayarkuppam, and Bommayapalayam—plus hotspots including Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, JIPMER, Pondicherry University, airport, bus/rail stations, and Rajiv Gandhi Women's & Children's Hospital.
