
New Delhi, 09 March (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed central observers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar, Haryana, and Odisha to ensure seamless coordination.Party president Nitin Nabin announced the appointments via an official communiqué.
For Bihar, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma and Union Minister Harsh Malhotra will oversee proceedings. Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghvi takes charge in Haryana, while Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule handles Odisha.
Elections for 37 seats across 10 states are slated for March 16, with counting on the same day. Contesting states include Maharashtra (7 seats), Tamil Nadu (6), West Bengal and Bihar (5 each), Odisha (4), Assam (3), Haryana, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh (2 each), and Himachal Pradesh (1).
Today marks the final deadline for candidate withdrawals.
