New Delhi, 09 March (H.S.): On International Women's Day, Kisan Trust honored trailblazing women from diverse fields with its 'Aparajita Samman' awards. Union Minister of Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi graced the event as chief guest.

Devi congratulated recipients, praising the trust—founded by former PM Chaudhary Charan Singh—for its inspirational aid to women, especially acid attack survivors. She outlined central schemes bolstering women's empowerment.

Organizer and trustee Charu Chaudhary emphasized: This honors resilient women turning dreams into reality despite odds. Equipping them with respect, opportunities, and resources fortifies society and nation.

A panel on 'Empowerment Through Employment' featured NITI Aayog's Principal Economic Adviser Ana Roy, UN Women India's Kanta Singh, banking-fintech expert Shinjini Kumar, and ex-Doordarshan anchor Salma Sultan—moderated by UP State Women's Commission member Manisha Ahlawat. Topics spanned education, jobs, and work-family balance.

'Millet Mom' entrepreneur Puja Sharma shared insights on women-led ventures and nutrition. Classical vocalist Prof. Mangla Kapoor, recently awarded Padma Shri, recounted her acid attack survival and musical triumph.

Founded by Charan Singh, Kisan Trust advances farmers' and women's upliftment, including acid survivors' rehabilitation under CSR.
