Bhubaneswar, 07 March (H.S.): Krushna Chandra Patra, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister of Odisha, on Saturday assured that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the state and urged people not to panic over reports related to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Addressing concerns regarding fuel availability, the minister said the state has adequate stocks of petrol and diesel and citizens should not rely on misleading information circulating on television channels or social media platforms.
“There is sufficient petrol and diesel in the state. People should not believe false information being spread on TV channels or social media. Fuel supplies are continuing, including imports from Russia, and there is no cause for concern,” Patra said.
He also dismissed reports suggesting long queues at petrol pumps across the state, describing them as inaccurate. The minister assured that authorities are closely monitoring the distribution of fuel and other essential commodities.
“We are keeping a strict watch on the distribution of petrol, diesel and other daily necessities. Any irregularities or attempts at black marketing will be dealt with immediately. I request people to remain calm and trust only official sources,” he added.
Patra further stated that the state government is continuously reviewing stock levels and supply chains to ensure uninterrupted availability of fuel. He also appealed to the public not to hoard petrol or diesel, reiterating that there is no shortage in Odisha.
