Bhubaneswar, 07 March (H.S.): The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced a major infrastructure development project at Puri Railway Station, aimed at improving passenger amenities and operational efficiency. The project includes the construction of a ballastless track in the station yard and the development of Platforms No. 7 and 8.

To facilitate the works, several trains will be temporarily short-terminated or short-originated at nearby stations between March 11 and May 16, 2026.

During this period, selected trains will terminate at Sakhigopal Railway Station, including the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Puri Express (12145), Gandhidham–Puri Express (12993 & 22973), Kamakhya–Puri Express (15644), Tirupati–Puri Express (17480), Sealdah–Puri Duronto Express (22201), Valsad–Puri Express (22909), and Sambalpur–Puri Intercity Express (18303). Return services will originate from Sakhigopal on designated dates.

Certain trains will be short-terminated at Bir Purushottampur Railway Station, including Indore–Puri Express (20917), Sri Ganganagar–Puri Express (20471), Kamakhya–Puri Express (15640), and Jaleswar–Puri MEMU (68441), with corresponding return services originating from the same station.

Additionally, services like the Rourkela–Puri Express (18125) and Talcher–Puri MEMU (68413) will terminate at Khurda Road Junction, while the Howrah–Puri Express (12837) will be short-terminated at Malatipatpur Railway Station, with its return service (12838) originating from there.

To ensure passenger convenience, bus services will be arranged between the short-terminated or short-originated stations and Puri for valid ticket holders. Passengers are advised to check the latest train status via the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or railway enquiry counters before starting their journey.
