Kolkata, 05 March (H.S.): Flight services between Kolkata and Dubai resumed after a gap of around 113 hours as operations gradually returned to normal following disruptions caused by tensions in the Middle East, airport sources said on Thursday.

A Flydubai flight departed from Kolkata airport for Dubai at around 3.59 am on Wednesday, though it was originally scheduled to leave at 1.25 am, they said.

The flight reportedly carried around 55 passengers.

A Flydubai flight from Dubai also arrived in Kolkata early on Wednesday. The aircraft, which was scheduled to land at 12.25 am, touched down after 2 am with around 130 passengers on board, according to airport sources.

Flight operations between the two cities had been suspended after airspace restrictions and security concerns following Iranian strikes in the region, which led to temporary disruption of civil aviation services in several countries, including the UAE.

The last flight from Kolkata to Dubai had departed on February 28, after which several flights were cancelled, causing inconvenience to passengers.

With the gradual easing of restrictions, flight services on the route are now returning to normal, officials said.
