Mar (HS): Fifteen prisoners submitted fake medical certificates to avail leave

on parol. The fraud was detected offences against them have been registered by Frezarpura

Police in Amravati. The 15 prisoners had pleaded for leave. On rejection of

their request by the Superintendent of Prison, they approached Inspector

General of Prisons, who also rejected their applications.

The

prisoners then moved the High Court, which took the cognisance of the pleading

by the prisoners and directed the Superintendent to submit the reason for the rejection

of leave application. The applications were submitted at different period

during 2024-2025.

The Superintendent

informed the court the prisoners had submitted fake documents to avail the

leave. The Court, after examining the documents, asked the jail authorities as

to why offence against these prisoners were not registered?

Following

the directions of the court offence against the 15 prisoners were registered with

the Frezarpura Police Station.
