
Amravati, 04 Mar (HS): In an effort to improve
connectivity in the tribal-dominated Melghat region in Amravati ditrict, work
on installing ten mobile towers has been approved. The ten towers include an
optic fibre tower and nine towers by BSNL. The decision was taken by the
District Control Committee headed by District Collector Ashish Yerekar.
Installation of the mobile towers was approved by
the Forest Department, Melghat being a very sensitive environment area. The
underground optical fibre will be laid in Mohriam, Bichhukheda, Khokmar, Ghana,
Khamda, Dhokda, Marita, Khandukheda, Bhutrum and Chaurakund to Chopan, Rangbeli
to Dhokda, Rutipathar to Bhutrum.
Besides installation of the towers, the Forest
Department also approved the work on water conservation and other works in the
region.
